–– ―Encontros e desencontros‖, ―O estuprador‖ e ―Beijinhos no rosto‖. As narrativas
engendramentos do biopoder, incontrolável, doente e limitado.
The enhancement of the human body and the appreciation of what is considered to be good appearance are themes present in recent social relations, besides being object of attention of different approaches. Through the studies on biopower, Foucault (2007) showed that social and political processes have a great responsibility in the agency of the body as a means of production, maintenance and transformation of personal appearance. With the advent of technologies, the mastery of corporeal materiality comes into with new bio-ascetic practices and the pursuit of fitness along with beauty rituals anchored by the ideas of bodily purity and cleanliness. In this sense, this work aims to problematize the body in its domain of control on the literary plane. For that, three short stories by Rubem Fonseca were selected for reading and analysis - "Encontros e Desencontros", "O esuprador" and "Beijinhos no rosto". The narratives are exactly about the ideas of plasticity and control over the body and the characters are caricatured when they feel uncomfortable with their appearance. An element of constant reflection and care, constituting a way of being constantly perfected and transformed, the body narrated in the tales is, unlike the ideal advocated by the engenderings of biopower, uncontrollable, sick and limited
