This work does a biographical revision of two latin american typologies: the typology of Darcy Ribeiro and the typology of Celso Furtado. With the objective of analyzing the reach of these latin american typologies, a bibliografical analysis materializes from a specific case: the case of Uruguay. For this case, the work is separated in three parts, and divided in five chapters. The first part deals with the biography of the authors, their lives, their positions, their thoughts, studies, and professions, directly affecting their vision of Latin America, designing a specific typology for each region. The first part will be divided in two chapters, the biography of Darcy Ribeiro and the biography of Celso Furtado. The second part of this job will specifically deal with each typology starting with a description of the book in which the typology was published and its importance to the author. In the presentation of the typology, the description will be made in detail of each author for each region presented. Therefore, the second part will be divided in two chapters: the typology of Darcy Riveiro and the typology of Celso Furtado. The third part will consist of just one chapter, making a brief revision of the aforementioned characterizations by Riveiro and Furtado in respect to Uruguay, and later the discussion covers the main aspects mentioned by the Uruguayan authors, by which the authors describe the mentioned period by typology. When the country is specifically analyzed inside one typology, that which is characterized by generalizing aspects is perceived on the one hand as a similarity in the characteristics and structures presented by the authors, and also as a difference in the analysis in the root causes of these structures. This analysis is related to the worldview of each author, where it shows their professions, lives, struggles, and areas of importance in which they acted, experiences, and lived
