'Felicidade', de Luiz Vilela: do pertencimento ao mal-estar social

Abstract

O objetivo deste artigo é analisar o conto ―Felicidade‖, de Luiz Vilela, uma vez que este aponta uma problemática contemporânea: o processo civilizatório e suas implicações ao conceito de felicidade do indivíduo. A narrativa apresenta a dificuldade da personagem em manter suas relações sociais e ao mesmo tempo sobrepujar a sua perspectiva de prazer e felicidade. Por conveniência, ostenta sorrisos sem graça ao ser surpreendido com uma festa de aniversário surpresa que sua mulher organiza em sua homenagem. Sucumbindo seus reais interesses em prol da convivência harmoniosa, sente-se, ao refugiar-se no banheiro e ficar sozinho, sua real necessidade e desejo. Deste modo, percebe-se que o conceito de felicidade da personagem está subjugado ao estereótipo de sociedade feliz criado culturalmente em torno dela; o indivíduo está à mercê das conveniências sociais para suprir a necessidade de pertencimento ao grupo social. Desta maneira, este trabalho fará uma análise bibliográfica de cunho sociológico em tal obra, investigando como a necessidade de enquadramento às normas estabelecidas pela sociedade estão emaranhadas ao enredo, buscando fundamentação teórica nas considerações de Sigmund Freud (1974).

The objective of this article is to analyze the short story "Felicidade", by Luiz Vilela, since it points to a contemporary problem: the civilizing process and its implications for the concept of happiness of the individual. The narrative presents the character's difficulty in maintaining their social relationships and at the same time surpassing their perspective of pleasure and happiness. For convenience he flaunts smirk at being surprised at a surprise birthday party that his wife organizes in his honor. Succumbing his real interests in favor of harmonious coexistence, one feels, when taking refuge in the bathroom and being alone, his real need and desire. In this way, one realizes that the concept of happiness of the character is subjugated to the stereotype of happy society created culturally around her; the individual is at the mercy of social conveniences to supply the need to belong to the social group. In this way, this work will make a bibliographical analysis of a sociological character in such work, investigating how the necessity of framing the norms established by the society are entangled in the plot, seeking theoretical foundation in the considerations of Sigmund Freud (1974)
