El Movimiento Civil afrodescendiente en los Estados Unidos: análisis de caso del comic y serie televisiva "The Boondocks"
Resumo
Este trabajo de conclusión de curso reflexiona sobre las representaciones del Movimiento Civil adroamericano en los Estados Unidos, que se dan a través de comics y series televisivas, como es el caso de "The Boondocks", la cual ha sido publicada por más de 350 diarios estadounidenses (1999-2006) y cuenta con 5 libros de compilados "Because i know you don´t read the newspaper" (2000), "Fresh for ´01...you suckass" (2001), "A right to be hostile" (2003), "Public enemy #2" (2005), y "All the rage" (2007). Además el 2006 se estrena la primera temporada en la sección Adult Swim de Cartoon Network, siendo la cuarta y ultima temporada estenada el año 2014. Por tanto respaldandonos teoricamente en los nuevos métodos de investigación que surgen dek cuarto debate de las Relaciones Internacionales, junto con el abordaje estético que se desprende de esta, nos propusimos como objetivo apuntar y analizar el papel de la representación en las historietas y episodios de "The Boondocks" para ver cómo el movimiento afroamericano por los Derechos Civiles, con sus antecedentes y proyecciones. La elección de este objeto de estudio se justifica en la cuantitativa presencia de elementos historicos que son tratados en el marco contextual de nuestro primer y segundo capitulo. De esta forma séra demostrada la presencia de elementos especificos tanto del movimiento afroamericano por los Derechos Civiles como de otros objetos de la historia afroamericana, para la comprensión de la importancia de la utilización de estas fuentes para las Relaciones Internacionales. This course conclusión work reflects on how representations of the African
American Civil Rights movement are given by comics strips and televisión series,
in the case of The Boondocks. Which it has been published in more tan 350
american newspapers (1999-2006) and has 5 compiled books: “Because I know
you don ́t read the newspaper” (2000), “fresh for ́01...you suckass” (2001), “A
Right to Be Hostile” (2003), “Public Enemy #2” (2005), y “All the Rage” (2007).
Also in 2006 the first season premieres on Adult Swim ́s section of Cartoon
Network, the fourth and final season premiered 2014.Thus, the theoretically
support that behind us for the use of new research methods, which arising from
the fourth debate of International Relations, beside to the esthetic approach. We
set the objective point and analyze the role of representation in comic strips and
episodes of The Boondocks to see how they fit right into the historical context
adopted for this research: the African American Civil Rights movement, its
background and projections. The choice of this object of study is justified by the
quantitative presence of historical elements that are treated in the contextual
framework of our first and second chapters. This will demostrate the presence of
specific elements of the African American Civil Rights movement, and other
objects of African American history, which are fundamental to understand the
importance of using these new sources for International Relations.
